Youth Neuropsychology
Youth assessmentsClinical Neuropsychologists use tests, questionnaires and observation to measure different aspects of an adolescent/young adults's cognition (thinking skills), learning and academic performance, behaviour and social/emotional functioning.
The purpose of a neuropsychological assessment is to identify any cognitive and behavioural difficulties that may be impacting on the young person's abilities in study and in daily life. These difficulties can be the result of many different developmental, acquired, and psychological causes. We work closely with the young persons teachers and schools, GPs, other specialist doctors (such as paediatricians and neurologists), and other health care providers (such as speech therapists, physiotherapists, clinical psychologists and occupational therapists) to ensure a holistic management of the young person's needs. We will work collaborative to develop plans and strategies at school and in their daily life to maximise their potential. |
